'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' Trailer: Chris Evans Is a Gift to Humanity

See Chris Evans jump. See Chris Evans run. Run, Chris Evans, run!

So goes the tone for the first full trailer for Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," the latest addition to the comic book powerhouse's line of uber-successful film adaptations.

Evans, the titular capitán, also known as Steve Rogers, is still carting around plenty of that WWII-era angst that made us love him so much in the first place: "Well, all the other guys in my barbershop quartet are dead" he quips when asked about his weekend plans. Yeah, dude's got plenty to avenge.

And avenge it he does, taking down an elevator full of people in a clip we first caught a glimpse of this summer at San Diego Comic-Con. That's not to mention a knife fight and one hell of a staring contest with his presumed-dead former BFF Bucky (Sebastian Stan), who (spoiler alert!) has been resurrected (or something) as the bad guy Winter Soldier. (Maybe he's pissed about that haircut he's rocking. No time for a trim when you're coming back from the dead, we suppose. Or maybe he's still mad that he was named "Bucky." We feel ya, bud.)

Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp, Hayley Atwell, Robert Redford and Samuel L. Jackson round out the cast, many reprising their formal Marvel roles. Pardon us while we go write some Black Widow (Johansson)/Cap fanfic.

When you inevitably go back to watch the trailer for the nth time while making jazz hands and counting down the days until the film's April 4, 2014 release (161, FYI), take a moment to pause and appreciate what might be the greatest one-liner in Marvel history, whether it was intentional or not: Nick Fury gravely intoning to Cap, "You need to keep both eyes open."

Do you follow that advice, Fury? Do you? Can you? Heyo.

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier," directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, will hit theaters April 4, 2014.
